Week in Review 21-27 September: Catch Up, Check in & Design

Okay, so this week has been a sluggish one. The cold The Man had finally sunk through my usually strong  defenses, and in revenge I think I gave it back to him... (sorry honey!). It meant that there were lots of things left un-done but I also had time to just be and enjoy the moment without worrying too much about the things I couldn't do anyways.

Vietnamese beer to accompany delish Pho. I didn't think I looked that green...

  • Confirmed wedding reception place and received a 5 million item wedding checklist - eeek!
  • Dinner and sleepover at friends' place - i love sleepovers :)
  • Birthday dinner for girlfriend, complete with incompetent (by me and The Man only) Salsa dancing
  • Catch up with uni girlfriends - over 10 years since we saw each other!
  • Checked in to hotel for romantic few days away with The Man to keep celebrating our 4 year anniversary! We were both sick, so it wasn't super romantic (especially not the man's night dash to 7-11 for cold remedies so we could sleep) ;) We ate our way around Sydney - Dim Sum, German, Vietnamese, went shopping for exciting things like sheets and shorts (actually very exciting - I almost wanted to go home early to put our fantastic new linens on the bed), and went into the spa - probably not great for the cold...
  • Put the new sheets on bed when we got home - it has transformed the room and I so look forward to getting in to my 1000 thread count sheets each night (and occasional daytime nap). Bliss!
  • Packaged and sent Life is Crafted orders
  • Coaching sessions with lovely clients (and a few coughs thrown in)
  • Confirmed last round of new branding with amazing designer (can't wait to share!)
  • Designed and updated two of the 2014 diary templates
  • Family dog walk - just the one - The Man has been doing all the rest of them - which is the reason I'm telling myself Zander loves him more at the moment...
  • Went to a bookstore (I LOVE THEM), didn't buy anything (yet) just took photos of the ones that interested me to see if I really, really want them...But then forgot to buy the one I intended to (that's why I shouldn't be lazy - I should have just carried it around instead of meaning to go back at the end...) Oh well, I'll have to get Julia Cameron's Vein of Gold next time then!
One of the books I am contemplating...

Weekend Wishes
Engagement party for friends
Should do something for the wedding (ie INVITATIONS!!)
More Life is Crafted goodness.
Life planning for a big course in New Zealand next week
Rest and read - heal body, heal! (especially because I have to get on a plane soon!)

How's your week been lovely Adventuress? Share one of your highlights - do you get as excited about things like sheets as me - or am I that kind of quirky?!

Make it as you wish
Arienne xo
PS if you know anyone who can help with a wordpress shopping cart that needs to be set up in a relatively short time period please let me know. This is my biggest stressor at the moment and I will love you forever

Week in Review - 14-20 September 2013: Family Frenzy, Love Celebration & Braindumps

Family Time! Mum & Dad's Birthday Celebrations in Perth

I've missed my Week in Reviews! It really is such a nice habit to get into. It recaps all you've done during the last 7 days giving a sense of accomplishment and building momentum towards more. It also brings that added bit of awareness to things that have happened, in this world of rushing from one thing to the next.

My Week in Review:

  • We were in Perth for some of the week with the family all in one place for the first time in years!
  • Coffee date with new friend
  • Planning session in park - it was great to get away from the normal surrounds and distractions and have a power 90 minutes of collecting all my scattered info and to dos and put them in one place. I could have spent longer but the parking inspector showed up and I was just about to run out of time on the meter...ahem..
  • Catch up with my 'Specilista' chickie Mrs L and here hubby and growing family. Gotta love tacos :)
  • Swan Valley wine tasting trip with The Man, Daddy-O and the Sissies. Such a great day and a wonderful lunch at The Riverbank - highly recommended!
  • Mini Perth CBD Pub Crawl - it ended up only being two places because the weather was super shite and we didn't want to face the barrage of wind and rain between places. Great seeing a few more of our friend and hearing about Bali Wedding plans and visions of a 6 month South American jaunt
  • Flew back from Perth to Sydney - so great that the little Puppy Monster can fly with us
  • Courses, post office trips for Life is Crafted orders, coaching sessions
  • New work routine planning and creating project folders (i love organising!)
  • Thank you letter written for lovely diary customers
  • 2014 Collection being planned and the first design is being finalised

Happy 4 year Anniversary!
At the Cellar Door of...hmmm can't remember!
Braindumping Planning Session in Perth Park

Weekend Wishes

Lots of catchups to look forward to this weekend - many of them long overdue!
Catch up with Miss C & Master M
Coffee date with Miss Z
Birthday outing for friend Miss L
Catch up with trio of Uni classmates - we haven't seen each other for about 10 years
Check in to lovely hotel to celebrate our 4 year Anniversary - hello sauna and spa

Week In Review: 20-26 April 2013 - Events, Like-minds & Mummy

One of the photos from my Lauren Emily Photography Shoot
Everything in my life at the moment is ramping up as all the momentum I've been building has snowballed. It is really awesome, but I'm also realising I'm ignoring certain important parts of life...Honestly, I've not gotten my heart pumping in ages and I'm finding I'm just grabbing anything easy to eat and not thinking about the nourishment (or lack thereof!) it provides to my body. If anyone has any words of encouragement or advice, shout it out sister!

You may have noticed a few changes happening around the blog and online with Savvy Sassy She. I'm starting a bit of a transition...keep your eyes peeled as my new pics, brand and message unfolds.

My week. In review.

Heard some great pitches and met some very creative entrepreneurs at LeanStartUpMachine. Sadly couldn't stay for the weekend as a great opportunity came up to be involved at...
The Greatest Gift Event. Spent the day making friends, helping out, meeting like-minds and hearing wonderful messages. The fab Nancy Georges summed it up in her Storify Story.
Mummy dearest arrived for a few days.
Finalised all the paperwork for The Man's visa stuff. Being together for almost 4 years and there are already so many memories. Tried to be concise in our recollections!
Getting the house into shape for guests that stayed a few days
Printing, packing and shipping of Life is Crafted planners!
Received the photos from the shoot the other week! I'm so damn pleased :) Thanks Lauren Emily Photography!
Doggie walks with VIP guest dog Maddy along for the ride with usual suspect Zander.
Still lots of decision making
Winter veggie soup making (and I broke the brand new slow cooker...)
Berry smoothie indulgences
Business planning...
Paperwork organising
Desk clearing
Routine tweaking
Read seriously amazing, fun and actionable book, Get Rich, Lucky Bitch!: Release Your Money Blocks and Live a First Class Life
Dinner at the local 'classy' pub with The Man and one of the Guests
Delish Malaysian meal with Mummy Dearest
Session with my UK based coach Ms J- goodness she helps me so much!
Accountability session with my two amazing social entrepreneur gal pals

What is one highlight of the last 7 days ladies? Share one (or more in the comments below!).

Make it as you wish Adventuress!

Week in Review: 13-19 April 2013 - Stepping Up

My gorgeous sister Liane ;) Happy birthday!!!!

This week has been full of magic. Internal magic. I've had ahas, breakthroughs and am finally ready to be truly me and step up into my essence and spread my message. I know, I know, it sounds very deep!

Well it is and I'm not being apologetic about it. I've been on this self discovery journey for about 6 years now, but it has only been in the last week that I am really owning it. I've been to hell and back and it's been a blessing. I've put in the hard yards to shake up my life from the inside out and I'm ready to truly flourish and do what it takes to sprinkle my version of life-fabulousness on the world. I don't know all the exact 'hows' yet but I'm not going to let that stop me. I'm clear on my Why and my Path so I'm just going to delve into it and do what it takes. I'm truly not afraid to show the real me now.

Are you ready to stop letting fear control you? What can you do to get closer to the true you?

Alright, now we've started with that amazingness, on to this week in review! I feel like I have done a lot because I've 'gotten over myself' and just jumped into doing things that I might have previously felt super, super, super duper uncomfortable about (so much so that I would probably put it off and self-sabotage, end up not doing it and then beat myself up about not doing it...exhausting!).

Instagramming away for #fflovephotoaday
Dinner catch up with wonderful friend Mrs T. We ate amazing Roti in the city (mouth watering!!!!)
Attended life-changing weekend event. Perfect You. Highly recommend it for pushing forward in life. I'm ready, I'm stepping up. This is my life.
Had birthday chat with my gorgeous sister Liane. I wish I could have been there in person, but my heart was celebrating with her!
Had much needed phone catch up with the Daddy-O. Switzerland feels so far away sometimes.
Lots of catch up responses and reach outs in front of the computer. Being away from emails for two days takes a bit of follow up work!
Wrote a couple of emails that really stretched my comfort zones. But have done it with heart and positive intention and am seeing that I am dealing with this discomfort and uncertainty in a whole new way!
Lots of action taking with progressing Life is Crafted planner printing - speaking with printers and dealing with quantities and questions
Working with providing the designers with what they need for the male version of the LIC planner...
Printing out a surge of Life is Crafted orders! Yay!
Progressing The Man's next stage of visa stuff - I think he's going to be formally Australian before I am (I've been an 'Aussie' with only permanent resident status for 25 years...)
Putting finishing touches on new calendar product
Beautiful catch up meeting with truly amazing women from course I'm doing in Manly. Goddess Inspiration Loops where we are reflecting inspiration off each other and giving each other fab ideas.
Great conversation with Miss C who is inspiring me to pay more attention to my health again.
New website brainstorming
Slight facebook revamp (if you've not 'liked' me yet, go on! www.facebook.com/savvysassyshes)

How about you? What have you done this week that made you feel uncomfortable but you knew it was actually important to the big picture so you did it anyway?

Make it as you wish! Become an Adventuress in your life,
Arienne

Week In Review: 29th March - 5th April 2013 - Reunions, Self Love & Sisterhood

I've been missing my week in reviews and all the benefits it gives me! Here is a wrap of the past 7 days :)

Visited Corban and Blair - a beautiful Sydney-based stationery/lifestyle business. Small world as one of the co-founders is the mother of a student from the School of Nursing I used to work at. The other co-founder is the mother of a boy that The Man will start soccer coaching this week...We had good chats around products and business. Hello Universe and Synchronicity!
Had good chats with a potential printer around paper and production
Me with Janice & Charlie in Bondi
Caught up with the Beautiful Janice, who was my roommate at Kimberly Wilson's Paris/Provence Yoga Retreat last year and her partner Charlie when they had a quick visit to Sydney from Arizona.

Been having lots of instagram-ing fun. I'm @ariennegorlach - join in the visual lovefest! Joining in with the #fflovephotoaday challenge. Love my Filofax!
Revamped my editorial calendar for Savvy Sassy She and Life Is Crafted
Family time at the park - such precious moments
Coaching session with wonderful insight-driving woman
Future creating for Life is Crafted
Reading fun, frivolous, fiction novels to rest the active mind
Product printing for Life is Crafted & LifeTyped
Post office visits
Zander walks
Bill paying
Goulash eating. Amazing food cooked by The Man
Not the best quality shot! Me and Amanda (love the dress!)
Went to an amazing event called Self Love and Sisterhood featuring some amazing bloggers discussing these two important topics. The panel had Tara Bliss from Such Different Skies, Jess Ainscough of The Wellness Warrior, Melissa Ambrosini from Path To Wellness and Amanda Rootsey of Shine From Within. I will definitely write more about this event - they were uplifting and inspiring!

Week In Review: 24-30 November 2012 Launches & Lunches

The Life Manifesto Print from LifeTyped

I wrote a post about doing a Week In Review over at Life is Crafted last week and it proved to be quite popular! I know I haven't done one here in a while (though I have a few draft posts) but I should let that put me off getting back on the horse.

I have to say that part of me feels like some big things happened, but not much else. Though, it is not until I start looking through my Filofax and seeing what I've actually done, that things I've 'forgotten' about pop out again. So, I might be surprised...let's see!

  • Worked on all the pre-launch tasks with a level of manic craziness for LifeTyped. This included website tweaking, buying process designing and implementation, image decisions, photoshoots, social media launches blah blah blah. I really feel this took up the majority of my time, energy and efforts this week!
  • Launched LifeTyped
  • Friend and business coach over for dinner
  • Picked little Zander dog up from the vet. He had an x-ray done to see if the limp that has been hanging around on and off for 6 weeks was anything serious - IT WASN'T!
  • Went to Australian Businesswomen's Network (ABN) catch up evening
  • Went to the launch of Discordia - it's awesome - check out a different voice for women!
  • Planning gift guide post
  • Celebrating The Man's Name Day today
  • Lunch with the Daddy-O in Balmain
  • Lots of social media-ing
  • Responding to sales inquiries and emails for Life is Crafted
  • Lots of time with Kirsten (my biz partner and friend in LifeTyped) singing 'What you've done to me' by Xfactor winner Samantha Jade. And yes we though the line was 'I'm a hobbit on the run.'

What was the highlight of your week SSSs?

Week In Review: 8 - 14 September: Alohas, Puppies and Reality

Sunset at Waikiki Beach
Some of you may know that I had an amazing last minute opportunity to go to Hawaii to spend some time with my mum and sister - which is why I'v not been too active on the site the last couple of weeks - but more on that later!

I've been back one week now...In some ways productive and in others pining for the warmth, sea and carefree holiday feel the islands gave me. Sigh...

Arienne's Week In Review
  • Travelled back on Hawaiian Airways and watched many Hawaii 5-0 episodes
  • Face to face business coaching session
  • Watched X-factor episodes (yes I love it)
  • Bucket-loads of laundry
  • Happily putting away my beautiful shopping finds - I've got my whole summer wardrobe on the cheap (thanks Labour Day sales - Macy's, Factory Outlets and Victoria's Secret!)
  • Happy doggy walks with Zander and his girlfriend Maddie
  • Girlie time with Miss J who is staying at the moment
  • Aussie time with Mum (though more Hawaii time together would have been slightly preferable)
  • 10thousandgirl website work...hackers...why?
  • Phone catch up with friends near and far
  • Hot-water drama in investment property
  • Lots of home cooking - bolognaise, chicken curry & tacos
  • Re-organising work timeframes and to-dos
  • Logo work
  • Project planning
  • Runs, push-ups and sit ups during doggy walks
  • Reading fun switch off novels
I have so much to share about my upcoming plans - I'm excited to let you all know what they are but need a little more time to put them in place before I shout them out :)

What was a highlight of you week Savvy Shes?

Make it as you wish SSS,

Week In Review - 4-10 August 2012 - A Week Of Not Quites

View of the city sunset from Cockatoo Island
I had a lot of plans this week, the to do list, goals and social calendar were pretty much full. I have to say it was one of those weeks where not a lot got ticked off. Part of me beat myself up for not creating lots of outcomes and 'wasting' the week but the other part of me was more understanding. I was listening to my needs. It was yearning for comfort and coziness rather than rocking it out to the two gigs we missed!

  • Big laundry/clean up day - felt refreshed from clearing things out
  • Cockatoo Island with Miss C - because the ferries etc were full and chaotic we missed Miss L up from Melbs :( but had a great time

Miss C and the awesome bamboo wind chimes installation at the Biennale at Cockatoo Island
  • Weekly accountability session
  • Weekly coaching session
  • Exercise jaunt around the park
  • Juicing!
Delicious fresh fruit and veg destined to be crushed up in the juicer
  • Day spent at the beach side with lovely friend and her daughter for a long overdue catch up (and Zander in tow)
Zander gazing out over the ocean and contemplating where all the balls are at Dee Why Beach
  • Interviewed the wonderful in pink Nicole Cannon of Pink Finance for the 10thousandgirl podcast
  • Warm, cozy evening at home with The Man, The Dog and a movie

How was your week SSSs? Did you schedule things in that didn't happen in the end?  How did you feel about it?

Make it as you wish!

Week In Review - 28 July - 3 August 2012 - Lights, Camera, Action!

Found On

I was really drawn to this picture. It just evokes such beauty and whimsy. I would love to be there! Flowers have been on my mind because I've been thinking wedding - I can't believe how expensive bouquets are! I'm thinking about just going to the flower markets and making my own!

Anyways, that was slightly off topic though it was part of my week. I feel like I've gottem back on the horse after this lingering cold. My mind is back (though the body has a little ways to go). I spent a lot of the week doing many awesome work related things and I feel like I am finally getting closer to my goals! Yay!

  • Doggie family walks
  • Long overdue coffee catch up with Ms J - wonderful
  • Sunday dinner at friends' place - Yummy Chilli
  • Started reading $100 Start Up
  • Blog planning
  • Plumber fixed leak and saved the planet's water
  • Bill paying...
  • Cleaned up one of my email address inboxes
  • Edited and published 10thousandgirl podcast
  • Accountability catch up
  • Business coaching session
  • Web development meeting with amazing pair
  • Wedding dress viewing for girlfriends
  • Created signature (below!)
  • Arranged another long overdue catch up for next week
  • Tackled laundry mountain :)
  • Lovely dinner with new friends
How was your week SSSs?

Week In Review: 21 - 27 July - Tissues, Tea & Tantrums

Three things happened this week that made me look at my life and reinspired me to make the important things happen. You don't know what is around the corner so every day is an opportunity to start afresh and to push through the barriers that arise. You owe that to yourself.

My Step-Aunt passed away after a battle with a degenerative disease. Sad and horrible and I feel so much for the family and my stepdad that remain. But I hope she is in peace after her long battle.

I found out that a girl I went to high school with died leaving behind her 9 year old daughter. She was my age - 31. Waaaay too young. Shocking and tragic.

Then I was sick with the flu, which in the grand scheme of things isn't huge, but the things that come up when you are lethargic on the couch are. You have time to think. To marinate in the difficult things that come up. You can't hide in your busy-ness. Doubts, fears and emotions come up. I was beating myself up on the things I hadn't done. Where I hadn't reached. What hasn't been accomplished.

I was forgetting about the intangible inner journey I've been on to get me where I need to be. I guess I needed to go through these uncomfortable feelings to push me forwards.

So while I didn't get a lot finished, I did accomplish a few things:

Sunday roast for one of my favourite birthday girls (I kept away from human contact and hid behind tissues)
Created a winter routine
Formulated a health challenge - I'm ready to rock my fitness again after the flu and holiday hiatus
Spoke to my Daddy-O - he's coming back for a couple of months towards the end of the year
Watched the masterchef finale while eating toast
Wrote 11 Ways To Do More With What You Have for 10thousandgirl
Cancelled a bunch of catch ups and meetings as I wasn't fit for public consumption
Played around with business stuff
Booked car in for pink slip
Met with fab business girls in coffee shop
Received a business coaching session

What is inspiring you to move forward SSSs?
Make it as you wish

Week in Review 7th - 13th July 2012: Arienne Got Her Groove Back

I tell you, coming back from holidays is tough work. Tough with a capital 'T' I say!

I've steadily been trying to get back into the swing of things back home. One of the things that has helped was relocating my office from near the kitchen to a bright airy room upstairs. And because of that (and with the help of some beautiful new bits of stationary) I am back and on track! Yippee!!!

So this week has been a hodge podge of love, friends, doggy, kitty, rearranging and beautiful life/work planning:

  • Caught up with lovely friends with good news at local cafe
  • Bought some delish gumboots (that didn't cost the earth):
  • Rearranged the downstairs furniture to create a cozy corner (including The Man, dog and doonas for added warmth):
  • Washed Zander the dog (finally! pooey!)
  • Had scrumptious lunch at local malaysian eatery (Asian food, how I missed you on our Croissant and Cheese Euro jaunt)
  • Don't tell anyone, but we bought takeaway from above eatery to have for dinner that night too...
  • Lovely accountability buddy catch up after 6 weeks being unaccountable
  • Date Night with The Man at local pub
  • Created my own blog planner (can't wait to print in colour!):
  • Stationary shop visit for inspiring new tools
  • Mr & Mrs S arrived for a few days before they move to whoop whoop (booooooo)
  • Google Hangouts meeting for new group I'm involved in
  • Oooh and started my new office set up as can be seen in Photo 1!
  • Uploaded a bunch of pics from Hungary
  • Wrote some snail mail correspondence (love pen and paper!)
  • Ordered a gorgeous coat rack to solve our coat mountain
  • Found my new blog crush at A Life of Perfect Days. Isn't she awesome?
  • Wrote Monthly Dreams, The Power of Intention and Cross-Stitch Creativity posts
What about you gorgeous Savvy She? What did you get up to?

Make it as you wish SSSs!

Week In Review: 10 - 16 March:

Somebody asked me if I had more than 24 hours in my day after reading my last week in review. Seriously, I'm trying to learn to be more efficient in my day because I am not often a super productive person! If you take a few minutes to go through your week and note everything down that you did I am SURE you will be pleasantly surprised too. Go on, I DARE YOU to give it a try!

Celebrated my darling Fiance's birthday - pool, dinner, drinks, karaoke and a win on a random pokie machine
Bake my love a chocolate mud cake (seen slightly blurrily above)
Walks and workouts in park with Zander the Dog
Helped with 10thousandgirl Webinars
Social Media Women event
Won a ticket to a social media seminar hosted by She Inspires
Final focus group!
Dealing with difficult real estate agent in Perth...
Full on yoga class! Hello sore muscles!
Coffee with long-time female entrepreneur
Asked to write post for the Women as Entrepreneurs group
Helped friend write her 'elevator pitch'. It is soooooo much easier doing this for someone else than for yourself!
Interesting Selling with Integrity seminar
Coaching systems developed (news to come about this!)
Coaching call with international client :)
Book writing with Zoe
Accountability session - sooooooo useful
Wedding dress research as I am going wedding dress shopping for the first time tomorrow! Excited and kind of nervous...is that normal?

There was quite a bit that I didn't do (ie more blog posts) but I achieved a lot of things that became a focus through the week!

What was a big or small highlight or 'win' of your week SSSs?

Week in Review: 4 - 10 Feb - Reaching Out

Found On

I have had a fabulous week of reaching out to others and others reaching out to me as well. Connections are so important. It really is one of the 'cherry-on-the-top's of life! We are social creatures that crave support and truly connecting with others (interacting with others balanced with some solo time is especially sweet!).

A huge thank you to Ms J for sending me a wonderful email in support of what SSS does for her and to Ms S for feeling like she could reach out and ask for guidance. Both of you have reassured me that doing what I am doing is making a difference - heaps of gratitude to you ladies.

I've also sent emails to a couple of women who are doing some spectacular things in their lives. Three of them are people I have met through friends and had little conversations with, it was little nerve-wracking to actually send them an email and suggest meeting up to connect further. But I received favourable responses from all of them and am teeing up mutually workable times. So, Yay! Fabulous women unite :)

This week has been all over the place, some really great things happened like the above and some really bleh experiences happened too (but they were mostly within me so I managed to move through them and onwards pretty quickly!).

Prepped for my first focus group
Ran first focus group! It was a fabulous few hours and I got SO many insights! Thanks gals :)
Organising 4 more focus groups and shot off the emails and the wonderful RSVPs are coming through! (email me if you're in Sydney and would like to join in!)
Attended Yoga with a View event - they raised $700 towards cancer prevention research
Got into our backyard 'pool' for the first time :) Cocktails and watermelon in the sunshine - looking forward to more of the same!
