Week In Review - 4-10 August 2012 - A Week Of Not Quites

View of the city sunset from Cockatoo Island
I had a lot of plans this week, the to do list, goals and social calendar were pretty much full. I have to say it was one of those weeks where not a lot got ticked off. Part of me beat myself up for not creating lots of outcomes and 'wasting' the week but the other part of me was more understanding. I was listening to my needs. It was yearning for comfort and coziness rather than rocking it out to the two gigs we missed!

  • Big laundry/clean up day - felt refreshed from clearing things out
  • Cockatoo Island with Miss C - because the ferries etc were full and chaotic we missed Miss L up from Melbs :( but had a great time

Miss C and the awesome bamboo wind chimes installation at the Biennale at Cockatoo Island
  • Weekly accountability session
  • Weekly coaching session
  • Exercise jaunt around the park
  • Juicing!
Delicious fresh fruit and veg destined to be crushed up in the juicer
  • Day spent at the beach side with lovely friend and her daughter for a long overdue catch up (and Zander in tow)
Zander gazing out over the ocean and contemplating where all the balls are at Dee Why Beach
  • Interviewed the wonderful in pink Nicole Cannon of Pink Finance for the 10thousandgirl podcast
  • Warm, cozy evening at home with The Man, The Dog and a movie

How was your week SSSs? Did you schedule things in that didn't happen in the end?  How did you feel about it?

Make it as you wish!

A Life Less Ordinary

Found On

Back in the days before The Man danced into my life and I was a single gal, I remember coming across people's dating profiles.

So many of them stated, "I'm just a normal guy, looking for a normal girl..." or some permutation of the like.

My reaction was always, WHO WANTS BORING NORMAL?? WHO WANTS THINGS TO BE 'ORDINARY'??

Okay, so we might not be searching for abnormal, but don't we want something a little different and unique? And I believe this doesn't only go for relationships - it is relevant for life in general. We deserve the best.

I want extraordinary.

I want my life full of magic and the 'impossible'. Of love soaring to heights I didn't believe true.

I want to be the best I can be. To experience wonderment and awe in my everyday.

To be and see the spectacular and the fantastic.

So how do we do that?

So much of this has to do with our perception of the world around us and within us. We can make ordinary situations into extraordinary ones with how we engage with them.

For example, you can just see a weed growing in an unlikely place or you can see it and experience the wonder of it being able to grow there. You can accept breakfast in bed with a gracious thanks or you can super appreciate it and shower the giver with gratitude and feel how lucky you are to have that person in your life. Notice the difference?

Appreciate how you react to situations and deal with things. Feel you are capable and pat yourself on the back for accomplishing even the smallest things. See then how it makes you feel! We can take for granted our innate abilities or we can look inside and cheer them on :)

Another thing we can do is raise our standards and expect good. If you are forever expecting little out of life or yourself how will you see when great things come along? Raise your expectation bit by bit. Expect good and you will see more of it around you. Yes it can be challenging but give it a go! Trust me - it is worth it! Can you see the good in that?

Are you with me SSSs?? Make it extraordinary and as you wish!

Week In Review - 28 July - 3 August 2012 - Lights, Camera, Action!

Found On

I was really drawn to this picture. It just evokes such beauty and whimsy. I would love to be there! Flowers have been on my mind because I've been thinking wedding - I can't believe how expensive bouquets are! I'm thinking about just going to the flower markets and making my own!

Anyways, that was slightly off topic though it was part of my week. I feel like I've gottem back on the horse after this lingering cold. My mind is back (though the body has a little ways to go). I spent a lot of the week doing many awesome work related things and I feel like I am finally getting closer to my goals! Yay!

  • Doggie family walks
  • Long overdue coffee catch up with Ms J - wonderful
  • Sunday dinner at friends' place - Yummy Chilli
  • Started reading $100 Start Up
  • Blog planning
  • Plumber fixed leak and saved the planet's water
  • Bill paying...
  • Cleaned up one of my email address inboxes
  • Edited and published 10thousandgirl podcast
  • Accountability catch up
  • Business coaching session
  • Web development meeting with amazing pair
  • Wedding dress viewing for girlfriends
  • Created signature (below!)
  • Arranged another long overdue catch up for next week
